William Eugene Gilliam, 63, of Royalton, formerly of Du Quoin, passed away at 9:00 P.M., Monday, December 20, 2004 at his residence.
Bill was a heavy equipment operator for the Consol Coal Company.  He was a member of Christian Fellowship Church in Du Quoin.  He was a U.S. Navy veteran.
He was born September 12, 1941 at Du Quoin, IL, the son of William H. and Olive Louise (Pierce) Gilliam.
He married Deloris Strouse on December 24, 1962 at Ridgeway, Illinois and she survives.
He is survived by his wife of Royalton, one daughter - Melissa Knight of Valier, one son - Tyler H. Gilliam of Minnesota City, Minnesota, one grandson - David Gilliam of Royalton, one brother - Richard Gilliam of Creal Springs, IL, and two sisters - Janet Mydler of Tamaroa and Sherrie Dunn of Du Quoin.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, December 23, 2004 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Bro. Percy Pavloff officiating.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 P.M., Wednesday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.
Interment will be in the Sunset Memorial Park at Du Quoin.
Friends may make memorials to the Christian Fellowship School and will be accepted at the funeral home.
